Creation and tours
Malandain Ballet Biarritz is one of the few French companies to claim a neoclassical aesthetic; in other words, a dance that has in its DNA a choreographic grammar codified in the 17th century and which, like all living organisms, has been able to evolve right up to the present day.
Accueil-studio
Since 1999, the French Ministry of Culture has entrusted the National Choreographic Centres with the task of helping companies by offering them ``studio residencies``. To this end, they have been allocated a budget enabling them to support the projects of companies they choose to host in residence. Hosting studios is now one of the missions set out in the Terms of Reference for National Choreographic Centres (CCN), as confirmed by the circular issued by the Minister for Culture and Communication on 31 August 2010 on national labels and networks for the performing arts.
Associate artist
Since 2016, the CCN Malandain Ballet Biarritz has had additional resources to host an associate artist as part of the ``new measures`` for dance introduced by the French Ministry of Culture. In 2016, via the Young Choreographers competition, the Ballet spotted Martin Harriague, a young choreographer, and offered him a first residency for creation and dissemination.

Territorial cooperation center
Since moving to Biarritz, Malandain Ballet Biarritz has initiated projects with actors from the Southern Basque Country, and more particularly with some from the Guipuzcoan capital Donostia / San Sebastián through the Ballet T project.
Awareness-raising, mediation and artistic and cultural education
Malandain Ballet Biarritz has made awareness-raising a major challenge in its choreographic development, and is rolling out a proactive programme aimed at the general public
Festival le Temps d'Aimer
Founded in 1990 by Biarritz Culture, Le Temps d'Aimer, of which Thierry Malandain is artistic director, brings the imperial city to life to the rhythm of dance for 10 days each year. Eclecticism, a close relationship with audiences and eco-responsibility are at the heart of its DNA...
Territorial choreographic centre
The Pôle de coopération chorégraphique project was born in 2012 from a number of observations. The Ballet, more than ever, continues to enchant a wide audience with works from its repertoire and with new creations. Despite this popularity, there are only four hundred dancers employed on permanent contracts in France, few troupes in comparison with other countries and, in the end, relatively few young choreographers claiming an attachment to the academic vocabulary. This is all the more paradoxical given that this vocabulary, as well as ballet as a theatrical genre, received their 'letters of nobility' in France before spreading throughout Europe and then the whole world.
Dancers' health
Malandain Ballet Biarritz has designed and implemented a tailor-made medical monitoring system for choreographic artists.
Partnerships
With a view to sharing the tool, the CCN de Biarritz contributes to a number of choreographic projects in the area where it is based, in France and internationally.
